Garage Gym

Moving from working out in my bedroom to turning half the garage into a gym.
This is what my previous workout setup looked like!

The Gear (deep dive)
Here's a bit more of details on each piece of gear and my thoughts on it.
Racks
ProForm Olympic Rack
I started with the ProForm Olympic Rack and Bench XT. I picked this up from Dick's (no longer available there) and it was a great starter rack and bench set. I replaced the bench a little bit ago for a couple reasons - one, I didn't like the incline method (it felt slightly unstable) and also the leg curl/extension attachment was not detachable, which kept getting in my way.
The safeties on this rack are not ideal either; they don't extend very far, but they are better than nothing.
Bells of Steel Hydra Power Rack
I'm upgrading from the old rack to a proper Power Rack from Bells of Steel. I went with the flat foot option (as I don't want to put holes in my floor to mount it). And I got it in purple!
I chose the flip-down safeties as opposed to the straps that are shown in the picture.
Weights
I currently am using a basic barbell and metal Olympic plates for my barbell workouts. I got this set at Dick’s and it’s…fine.
Soon I will be adding some bumper plates to make deadlifts a little better and also to have more flexibility. Eventually, I’d like to upgrade the barbell as well.
I also have an EZ-bar that I got from Amazon; I hope to replace it with this cool purple one from BoS eventually too!
